About me
Hello there!
I am Wong Yi Wen, a final year student in Ngee Ann Polytechnic pursuing a Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education.
I was a former Veterinary Science student who took a leap of faith to chase after my childhood dream of being a teacher.
Having the interest, knowledge and experiences of working with children, I aspire to become a patient, compassionate and inclusive English Language teacher, one who embraces every child's differences and guides them to unleashing their greatest abilities.
With my passion aside, I love to read, write and brush up on my makeup skills during my free time!

I am a firm believer of the Reggio Emilia approach and that children learn best through authentic learning experiences, play and hands-on experimentation with their environment.

My teaching philosophy is to create an abundance of fun and enriching opportunities for all children as I believe that every child has an equal right to grow, learn and develop. I draw on my knowledge of child development, the NEL and EYDF frameworks and principles, skills and values such as reflectiveness practices and empathy to ensure that quality education is given to every child under my care. I strive to provide a warm classroom environment where all children feel a sense of belonging and safe to explore, and become a caring and approachable role model for children to look up to and come to whenever they desire.
A Minute of Me
Whenever I tell my friends that I switched over from a Veterinary Science course to study Early Childhood education, their first question would always be "Do you regret it?" Without hesitation, my answer is a firm "No."
